Sally Lloyd-Jones

I’m a Brit who came to the States in 1989. Just for a year or two.

I’m still here.

This tells you how much I know.

But I do know that I was born in Kampala, Uganda and raised in East, and West Africa and at a boarding school in the New Forest, (which I also know is nothing of the sort—it’s very old. It had Charles I in it. How new can it be?).

The first book I ever read all the way through was ‘The Complete Nonsense’ by Edward Lear.

Things have not been the same since.

Also, I get to have the best job in the world—writing stories. And I get to work for the best bosses in the world—children. I am very grateful.

Here is a picture of me being a baby. (I don’t remember a great deal about being a baby but by all accounts I was quite good at it and have the photos to prove it.)

Things I love: running (sometimes marathons) and cycling, taking photos, going on adventures, watching movies, exploring my city by bike.

I also love great big ginormous cups of strong Tea and porridge.

Not together in the same cup.

Obviously.

I live in Manhattan and enjoy dividing my time between the front half of my apartment and the back. (My British accent makes it sound like I know what I’m talking about, so I’ve kept it.)

You can find my “Official Bio” here.

Here is a picture of me being a very clever person in big glasses.
